01 / Understand

The challenge

Adding Nectar points was more than adding a payment choice. Users needed to link an account, understand the points option and complete their contribution with confidence. New and existing users could arrive with different account states.

What informed the work

I worked with Crowdfunder and Nectar stakeholders to understand business objectives and technical requirements. Journey mapping for new and existing contributors, informed by customer data and feedback, exposed where linking, donation and confirmation needed to connect.

02 / Focus

Decisions behind the experience

01

Keep contribution continuous

Embed the Nectar option within the existing donation flow.

Why it matters Help users support a campaign without learning a disconnected journey.

02

Design for the account state

Map account linking, contribution and account-management interactions.

Why it matters Support the wider lifecycle of the partnership experience.

03

Include the difficult moments

Specify error states, confirmations and clear feedback alongside successful flows.

Why it matters Make the experience understandable when an action cannot proceed as expected.

04 / Deliver & learn

From direction to delivery

I led the design process, produced interactive prototypes and detailed specifications, and contributed reusable components to the design system. This supported alignment across the partnership and a clear handoff to development.

What came out of the work

The work provided a new route to contribute Nectar points and supporting account-linking flows. The contribution experience was supported by reusable components, clear account states and development specifications.

Product perspective

What this work shows
